The Plushy Brain and Its Mind Games

TGJC Season 2 Episode 2 Podcast

Ecclesiastes11:5 As you do not know what is the way of the wind or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of God who makes everything.

This is often my reoccuring thought, I don't know how the world works or how the God of the Universe made everythng. The more I learn, the more I realize I don't know anything. No one can explain who get's the spark of light or how bones are formed. We carry on in this life, ignorant to so much, yet pretending we know so much.

I'm no brain doctor, but I do find it interesting that it's soft and plushy, unlike the hard skeleton system and the skull that cradles the brain. Bones are hard and rigid, frames and shapes the body, protects vital organs. Why is the brain so impressionable?

It's flexible and adaptable. Designed to learn new information and retain it. Why do so many get stuck in their ways?

Old age and stubborness to name a couple. Has one considered how you can be convinced to buy something in a 30 second ad? It's very simple to implant ideas into your head. The Movie Inception is really a joke. It's no challenge to get an idea into your thoughts. The real challenge is to remove the thoughts and for you to think for yourself. Exercise your brain.

Mind control and brainwashing happens all the time. Who determines what fashion is in or out? What music is hype or not?

I was warned at a young age not to watch commercials. Also was warned not to let the opinions of others affect my feelings or offend me.  There was a school paper that listed items that was hot or not. Dragon Ball Z was on the Not list. I told my teacher that I didn't agree with that sentiment. He informed me that someone will always have a different opinion than you and in life you'll have to learn to get over it, essentially. I took that to heart.

I hope others will adopt that mindset and learn to think and feel for themselves again.

Exercise your brain. It's a muscle. Work it, and stop allowing others to thinik for you, shaping your opinions or feelings. It's soft and plushy for a reason. Be willing to learn new information and also willing to unlearn things. Don't get too offended if someone does not agree with you. It'll just keep you down.

God's peace.

(Perspective) Biblical: Freedom In The House Of Mourning

Countless times I've expressed the expansive variety of options we're gifted here on Earth. Why do we limit ourselves to options ABCD, though? We're told we have free will. We're told we can do what we want with our bodies and choose when to have kids  But what does it really look like to have free will? I'll tell you now. Not caring about the options at all. Seeing everything as a gift. Realizing this world was designed to be enjoyed and lived in to the fullest extent possible. Again, why limit ourselves to simple options? Pick whatever car you want (as long as it's the color options they've presented you with.) Eat whatever type of french fry, icecream, or food that is available on the menu list at your favorite restaurant. We have personal preferences and there's nothing wrong with having options and opinions. The question poised here is simple: Are you really free, or just given options?  I was blessed to hear a wonderful sermon that presented this w...
