Prayer Faith and Healing Book Discussion:

Segment One: Unanswered Prayers, Does God Really Care?

Why are we left to suffer? Athiest Nietzcshe quoted, " I doubt wheher such pain improves, but I do know it deepens us." Example shared from Joni Earkson Tada experienced diving accident left paralyzed. She shares that God can use our suffering to purge our sin from our lives, strengthen committment to Him.

Our Faith helps us endure, God may use it to shape, mold, and refine us. Much like what sandpaper does. Sometimes our answer to our prayer is denied to as to make room for something else he has for us. 

Segment Two: Getting A Yes, Because?

There is no magic formula, but there are things noted to help. 1) Allowed medicine to help 2) The person or another person prayed for healing. 3) Removal of Emotional Obstacles 4) The person has faith which has been shown to create calming affect. 5) Trying to live right 6) Patient knowing the body takes time to heal. 7) Allow for different answers and different types of healing such as family unity.

Segment Three: Trust His Heart when you cannt see what He is doing. 

Isaiah 61:1-3 The Year of the Lord’s Favor

61 sThe Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,

because the Lord has tanointed me

to bring good news to the poor;1

he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives,

and uthe opening of the prison to those who are bound;2

 2  vto proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,

wand the day of vengeance of our God;

to comfort all who mourn;

 3  to grant to those who mourn in Zion—

xto give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,

ythe oil of gladness instead of mourning,

the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;

zthat they may be called oaks of righteousness,

the planting of the Lord, athat he may be glorified.


Closing: (personal additional thought) Sometimes  the answer to healing is to be joined with Christ in glory, leaving this world.
