3 open relationships in response to roe v wade

and one open relationship you don't want to find yourself in... Outside and beyond the bedroom we're forced to engage in relationships. It's part of life. Work relations, bothersome peers, judgemental critics. What we're not hearing about in this current climate are specific relationship concepts older than the Bible. The Bible, again? Yeah, cause it's riddled with examples of "open relationships," many that are glossed over. One example: God the Father, Mary, and Joseph the Step-Father of Jesus. There are arguments poised that the Virgin Mary herself was a victim of assault, not given a choice in carrying Baby Jesus, despite her agreement ( Luke 1:38 , 1:46-55 ). In truth, we realize, the Bible has well documented accounts of women being dismissed, neglected, exchanged, used, and assaulted, some to the point of death. - The raped and murdered concubine, cut in 12 pieces found in Judeges 19 which resulted in war due to public outcry. The details are di...

Through The Command Comes Comfort

Scripture reference : Joshua 1:8-9 , Hebrews 13:5 , “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The Holy Spirit indwells us. Logically, we know as believers that the Lord is always with us. Verse 9 confirms this and comforts us, “Be strong and of courage; do not be afraid…the Lord is your God.” But before all that comfort comes the Command part most of try to avoid. We don’t likes the commands . We don’t like the laws and we don’t like to be told what to do. Being required to meditate, read, study and keep the laws day and night - such a daunting task. We want to do what we want to … that is until someone else wants to do what the...

Thankful For This Transition

The Tour Guide Welcomes You 8 November 2023 Thankful For This Transition First week of November already passed. Our transition from All Saints Day, Halloween, Reformation, Dios De Los Muertos, etc to appreciating the change in weather, change in ports, change in academic and liturgical calendars. November is the month we tend to gloss over. It’s like a conjunction connecting the last part of the year. October And December. Halloween And Christmas. No November no Thanksgiving nearly. We could argue the origins of Thanksgiving and whether we should or should not celebrate due to the past. Despite the controversy of its beginning, it is wise to express thanks and gratitude. Like the month of November itself, so often we forget to express our thanks and gratitude on a daily basis. We’re all guilty of this. Let’s spend the next two weeks mindful of the changes, mindful of this transitional period, and open to a changed perspective. Not focusing on, “I have to,” but rather “I get to”

(Perspective) Biblical " The Dinah Incident "

“The Dinah Incident” as the NKJV captions it in Genesis 34. The last verse is extremely vital to the entire chapter: “But they said, ‘Should he treat our sister like a harlot?’ ” This verse says a lot considering in our modern era, the answer may be a “yes”.  An old acquaintance from years past revealed in his youth a time his sister requested he go collect the money from some man that had gone to her for adult relations and had failed to pay her.  In our story from Genesis 34, despite the family of the man who “hooked” up with their only sister Dinah, agreeing to marry her and even agreeing to have all the men in that town circumcised, Jacob’s sons still decided to kill all the males in that town and take their sister back with them.  Jacob is fearful of the repercussions and potential retaliation from the other nations. But their response solidifies their reason for their actions. “Should he treat our sister like a harlot?”   The man who decided to have relati...
