(Perspective: Biblical) "For do I now persuade men, or God?"

Galatians 1:10: For do I now persuade men or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still please men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

No lie, Paul's writings are kinda hard to figure out sometimes.  As always, get full context:  Galatians 1:6-10.  Concerns over false teachers and them being accursed. How does one actually handle that? For another post.

Okay, but How does one know "what pleases" Christ? What does a Christian truly look like since they're still sinners and hypocrites like most people?

Since people are failing you   Consider:  What   did  Christ  actually  do?

For one, He did break many customs and offended people (Matthew 18:6-7 Matthew 21:12-13). So, there's a start.

Jesus also hung out with the people no one else would have: Sinners, a Woman at the well. . .

Jesus Openly stated to people their sins were forgiven

Jesus healed people. He humbled Himself became man, and was baptized. He also asked God to forgive those who crucified Him.  There's more: and I'll put the full quote because it's so epic:

And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.

John 21:25

You can't forgive someone's sins, only Christ can, you say. Truth. But, you're told to confess your sins to one another and carry one another's burdens. We need to hear it, be in prayer, and encouraging one another.

You can't heal anyone? Your prayers and Christ-like actions can bring spiritual healing. The wisdom passed down for physical and mental well being, all useful for aiding someone in the healing process. We have the tools and technology. Do you have the heart? And you can get baptized if you wanted.

At times we may offend others. We may not be able to forgive sins like Jesus does, but we can reassure one another our mistakes, failings, shortcomings, are forgiven. May not be a healer, but our kind actions could be life sustaining.  Yes, we should seek to live at peace with everyone, as long as it doesn't go against Christ. His preference over people is the only hope.

"17Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. 19Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord. 20“BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRYFEED HIMAND IF HE IS THIRSTYGIVE HIM A DRINKFOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.” 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

God's Peace

(Perspective) Biblical: Freedom In The House Of Mourning

Countless times I've expressed the expansive variety of options we're gifted here on Earth. Why do we limit ourselves to options ABCD, though? We're told we have free will. We're told we can do what we want with our bodies and choose when to have kids  But what does it really look like to have free will? I'll tell you now. Not caring about the options at all. Seeing everything as a gift. Realizing this world was designed to be enjoyed and lived in to the fullest extent possible. Again, why limit ourselves to simple options? Pick whatever car you want (as long as it's the color options they've presented you with.) Eat whatever type of french fry, icecream, or food that is available on the menu list at your favorite restaurant. We have personal preferences and there's nothing wrong with having options and opinions. The question poised here is simple: Are you really free, or just given options?  I was blessed to hear a wonderful sermon that presented this w...
