Segment One: 1 Prayer of Praise and Worship 2 Private Prayer
Seg 1 Prt 1- Prayer of Praise and Worship: show Gratitide to God - Not hard to praise when things are going great.
-Eerdman's Bible Disctionary Pg103 "...praise is regarded by the Bible as the response due to God from all creation because of His majesty and saving actions...(and) the dominant characteristic of true piety." Praise is ingrained and important part of Christian Faith.
-Psalms uses word "praise" 132 times for 150 Chapters
-Once we give God the glory through praise, our hearts and mind are lifted.
- Psalm 51 when David was repentant of affair and wrongdoings - released into praise during our mourning. Reverend Charles Spurgeon, "It is almost always the case that David by the fire of prayer warns himself into praise..." referring to Psalm 51
- Ways to start developing a feeling of praise: Watching nature, sitting in blowing wind, etc and seeing the "tiny pleasures" of God's creation
-Attitude of Gratitude - "Try to live one day in utter thanksgiving. Balance every compliment with ten gratitudes. Every criticism with ten compliments," - Richard J Foster -Pg 104
-Worship in song or put music to Psalms from the Bible
-ACTS from the book of Acts stands for Acclimations Confession Thanksgiving and Supplication. We naturally incorporate praise (thanksgiving) and worship (adoration) in to our prayer life.
-Praying Jesus' way or reciting the Lord's prayer

S1P2- Private Prayer Just between us and God: There is nothing wrong with worshipping God in church-God expects worship all week (Matthew 6:33) "...Seek first the kingdom of God."
-It is not about being big and Holy putting on a show-just intimate relationship.
-Pg 106 "If we make a practice of praying in private and in secret, God will reward us openly." -Matthew 6:6 reference to going into your closet to pray - Does not mean that's the only way to pray- there are times to have Private Prayer in order to listen
-Pg 107 "Public Prayer together in church and in the homes are also crucial for strengthening church and family life," Reverend Siang-Yang Tan PhD
-Do it daily, regularly, in crisis, or any time need comfort, or chance to offer praise
-We can set schedule and or have a specific place - *Don't let schedule create pressure or resentment
-Dr. Vernon M Sylvester suggests his patients start three times daily for five minutes - "This not only heals, it also maintains and prevents. If we're willing to be shown another perspective and we want to be free of stress emotions such as fear, guilt, grief...these emotions will be lifted from us. So that we may receive what God has for us." Pg108 Jeremiah 33:3

Segment Two: 3 Prayer of Release 4 Prayer with Saints
Seg 2 Prt 1- Prayer of Release Learning to Put our Problems aside: Pg 109 "Memories whether postive or negative, have the power to affect our lives, and our health in significant and long lasting ways...researchers have found that festering anger and hostility are linked to heard disease." -Ill feelings are stored in our memories
-Prayer Release, a potent weapon that allows us to hand our concerns to God.
-Norma Dearing Christian Healing Ministries "When people are able to release the resentment and bittenness in their hearts, their physical problems often improve significantly" -Pg 109
-Prayer of Release also to shed from past mistakes, problems, guilt, shame, difficulties, etc
-7 Steps Pg 110 - In seated or kneeling position, cup hands in front of you, say out loud things others have done to you or hardships, imagine placing each concern in cupped hands, while remembering have moments of silence, then pray for God to take these things from you, repeat procedure from perspective of person who has hurt you and possible ways you may have hurt this person repeating prayers of release, while lifting hands ask Jesus His will for person's life and what you really want the Lord to do in person's life, make desires of your heart for youself giving these Prayers to Jesus
-Pg 110 "There's something life-changing about getting these burdens out of your body, out of your heart, and out in front of you and releasing them to God," Dearing says.


Seg 2 Prt 2- 4 Prayers with Saints Drawing our Heavenly Partners: If you don't have a prayer partner consider from Catholic Prayer book "The church militant on eath is linked through Christ's resurrection with the church triumphant in Heaven."
-Catholics invite Mary to pray with them "...in terms of protection, in terms of help, in terms of support, in terms of inspiration...she lived a life that is worth studying." - Pg 112
-Father Stasiak: "We pray to God, and then we might stand at a shrine and remember how a saint lived their life and what God's grace can do." "Spirit of Companionship" (Imagine being alone and completely isolated or a prisoner. A reason to consider a saint as you pray)

Segment Three: Silent Prayer-Shh...God is Talking
-Sacred Silence, Catholic and Quakers both utilize it. Bible Blesses it (Pslams 46:9) "Be still and know what I am God."
-Pg 116 Fiar Brother Lawrence "Knowing God in silence can take many forms:" Quiet the mind, turn to Spirit of God within, wait for God to provide inspiration, revelation, new perception, sense of comfort, or make His presnse known
-Silent Prayer when it's inopportune such as loud crowds in public or when don't want to be seen as "overly religious"
-Quakers teach you dont have to be alone- Gathering with others and allowing for moments of silence allowing Holy Spirit to work
-Reverend William Wilson suggests you start by quieting the mind-not blanking out completely-rather focus on God's beauty and creation pleasing, holy, inspiring or calming thoughts, short repetitive prayer
-Bible Scriptures with mindfulness meditation
