(Perspective) Biblical: "Undead Saints"

Several Holidays land at the end of October, a couple designed to cause fear and anxiety. Saints and believers need not fear,
Matthew 27:59-54: And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up His spirit. 51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many. 54 When the centurion and those who were with Him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
Film adaptations often leave many details out..."and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection..." And Pharisees thought raising Lazarus from the dead was a problem.
The Scriptures don't really go into much detail of these reanimated saints, either. As Christ, "Yielded His Spirit, was that the driving force to thrust life back into these formally dead bodies? In Ezekial 37: 1-14, The Lord, asked him if the valley of the dry bones could live. The bones were quite dry, they emphasize. Ezekial was instructed to prophesy to them: "O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!" He spoke to them what the Lord was going to do. Rebuild their bodies with flesh then breath of life. v 10 "So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army."
Prophets and apostles raised people from the dead. We hear even in modern times people having out of body death experiences, then reuniting with their physical body. So, what's really going on out there? And what is there to fear if God is the giver of life? For those who believe in Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, who died rose again, is now seated at the right hand of God, who used this same spirit to raise these sleeping saints from their graves, raised Lazarus from the dead, raised a great army from dry bones, and brings people back to life, even in modern times, what do we have to fear? We're given spiritual authority to pray in the name of Jesus and cast out demons and heal the sick (Mark 16:15-18)
Several Holidays land at the end of October, many designed to create fear and anxiety. As you ponder the miracles and strange occurances of life returning to the dead, meditate on this prayer, from Ephesians 1:17-20
"17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, 19 and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 He exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms,"

(Perspective) Biblical: Freedom In The House Of Mourning

Countless times I've expressed the expansive variety of options we're gifted here on Earth. Why do we limit ourselves to options ABCD, though? We're told we have free will. We're told we can do what we want with our bodies and choose when to have kids  But what does it really look like to have free will? I'll tell you now. Not caring about the options at all. Seeing everything as a gift. Realizing this world was designed to be enjoyed and lived in to the fullest extent possible. Again, why limit ourselves to simple options? Pick whatever car you want (as long as it's the color options they've presented you with.) Eat whatever type of french fry, icecream, or food that is available on the menu list at your favorite restaurant. We have personal preferences and there's nothing wrong with having options and opinions. The question poised here is simple: Are you really free, or just given options?  I was blessed to hear a wonderful sermon that presented this w...
