Segment One: How Jesus Prayed & Prayer in the Name of Jesus

-Prayer in the Name of Jesus: Many faith groups make the sign of the Cross saying, "In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Segment Two: Prayer For Our Country and Our Leaders- "How many of us ask God daily to protect and heal our country? Or pray for the people who are elected leaders?" - It is An Obligation (1 Timothy 2:1-2 )

-Join The Crowd" Other prayer groups such as "National Day of Prayer" and "See You at The Pole" youth oriented.

-Add elected officials to your prayer list, pick someone special - Make prayer specific "Leadership takes a lot of vision...'without vision, my people will parish'."

Segment Three: Prayers With Others & Prayer of Petition

-Prayers With Others: "How may we pray with others?" - In agreement - in joyful praise - in unison - when separate (distance does not matter) - with technology - in an audience - aloud in a group - in silence - with a rosary - Lord's prayer recited.

-1Thessalonian 5:11 "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing." Hebrews 10:24 Support One Another

-Prayer of Petition- "asking for" most common type of prayer. - We can ask but not to make God a "Mr. Fix-it" only. Not a sign of a mature relationship - "God wants His children to enjoy His company."

-When to ask? When there is a legitimate need. - Check motives: James 4:3 "You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures," James, Jesus' brother

-Pg 101 From his book "How to Pray" R.A. Torrey writes, "A selfish purpose in prayer robs prayer of power

-Ask in Jesus' Name - Find Supporting Scripture 1 John 5:14-15 "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."

Respect Rules and Regulations

2 Timothy 2:5  "And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules." I find it interesting how mad people can get when a referee makes a bad call during a sporting event. I find it very interesting how angered and outraged a group of peoople will act when they're under the impression their team should have won, and lost due to rules being broken and someone failing to do their job right and make the correct call.  Many of these same people committed to these teams and their strict terms of correctness, also tend to ignore many rules of life.   I won't deny  that many rules are arbitrary, don't make sense and are designed to disenfranchise groups of people.
