Genesis 4:1-7 Hebrews 11:4
*Hebrews: "By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks"
*Genesis: Cain brought an offering of fruit from the ground. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock. God repescted Abel's but did not respect Cain's.
The Lord asks why Cain is angry? "Why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it."
He, in fact, did not rule over sin. He did not ask for God's help. He instead, went to his brother to complain and eventually unalived him.
*Hebrews 4"...and through it being dead, still speaks." Abel offered his firstborn. Small details God notices.
Are we, like Abel, "able" to put our first for God? Our time? Our effort? Our offering of service? Our Best? It's up to you. Just remember..."if you do not do well, sin lies at the door and its desire is for you, but you should rule over it."
Do your best and if you fall short, just talk to God, not vent to another person.
