Reference from Adam Sandler's 8 Crazy Nights musical
"Dear Mall, Thank you for being here when we needed you the most. We abandonned you during the lockdowns. You remained. Thank you for remaining a consistent and firm foundation providing food, fun, and entertaiment. An indoor track for exercise and a place of refuge from harsh weather." Whitey's Prayer
Jokes aside, 8 Crazy Nights does make a valid obeservation. The mall, a place of worship, essentially. Our idols of stuff and brand loyalty. It meshes with us and becomes part of our identity. It's a peaceful neutral ground. A place to display your craft, art, talent, passion. Memories are forged, experiences conjured. The Mall Is Sacred.
8 Crazy Nights, is a silly and heartfelt Adam Sandler musical classic. (One of the best songs "Technical Foul.") Sandler's character gets coached and mentored by Whitey (also voiced by Adam Sandler) an elderly basketball ref who would often go to the mall to pray, and there's good reason for it, especially now more than ever.
In person shopping is making its way back into focus and becoming priority again. There's only so much time you can spend online. We're social creatures. The time and energy you spent working acquiring money is rewarded in the items the shopkeeper has to offer. We go to these places because we desire the social interactions. Children need to establish this as well, early on how to interact with others in social settings. We're also directly supporting another family when we shop in their store.
Another important compenent to this "in person connection" shopping experience is realizing the value is not only in the item itself, but in the entire connection that's made. Someone has an idea in their head, they want to share it with others. You have family or friends owning this business who find or create unique things to share, their heart or passion, it's then extended to you when you purchase. The talking and connection feeds your soul. That is why we meet at the mall.

New stores have recently opened at my local mall. Family and friend owned and operated businesses: "The Moon Room," "Naomi Blu," "Keba's Boutique," "K&J Froyo Kafe," "Jr.s Express Grill" to list a few.

A Couple Reviews:
Keba's Boutique:
K & J Froyo Kafe: The Standard for what an Acai Bowl needs to be. My mother insisted I try one. She had one prior and wanted me to experience it. I experienced it. Absolutely worth it ! Smoothe, rich, creamy texture, perfect sweetness. Add whatever toppings for the acai for a flat price. I added to mine: cheese cake bites, berry toppings, marshmallow glaze. Perfection.
Keba's Boutique:
Self Care and repair with a Variety of price points, open space. Communication and connection with store associates made the shopping experience more than an ordinary trip to the mall. Unique rare finds, specifically selected to be shared with customers such as their Rosemary Mint all natural body butter. A little goes a long way, lightweight and soothing. Overall an Inviting atmosphere ...
Naomi Blu Boutique: A Boutique for Babies, Children and Tweens. Warm nurture earth tones, spacious with inviting displays. An extensive and unique variety of items: food and beverage storage sets, sunglasses, fun interactive pillows, hats and more. Perfect location next to family portraits. . . Full Review
